More Heart and Diabetes Checks
Diabetes and cardiovascular disease (CVD) affect a growing number of New Zealanders each year, and particularly their quality of life and life expectancy.
The More Heart and Diabetes Checks health target states that 90 percent of the eligible population will have had their cardiovascular risk assessed in the last five years. DHBs are required to achieve at least 75 percent by 1 July 2013, and DHBs exceeding 75 percent are expected to be actively moving toward the 90 percent goal.
