Increased Immunisation
Childhood immunisation provides protection from preventable diseases such as measles, rubella, polio and whooping cough (pertussis) which can lead to serious complications and long-term harm.
The current health target states that by July 2013, 85 percent of eight-month-olds will have their primary course of immunisation at six weeks, three months and five months on time, increasing to 90 percent by July 2014 and 95 percent by December 2014.
The quarterly progress result includes children who turned eight months old during the three month period of the quarter and who were fully immunised at that stage.
