Overview

Welcome to the Health Improvement and Innovation Resource Centre (HIIRC), your one-stop shop of trusted health information, latest research, and exemplars of best practice.

It is a resource to help you improve New Zealand’s health care system.

The Ministry of Health established HIIRC in 2010 to improve the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders by sharing examples of innovation and quality improvement, and by making New Zealand research more available to people working in health.

You can access HIIRC’s extensive Knowledge Library of research literature, directories of individuals and organisations, a range of improvement tools, and the latest news about events and projects. Topics covered by HIIRC include hospital productivity, primary health, access to elective services, diabetes, and cardiovascular services.

You will find information relevant to your work in health, whatever your specialty.  Visitors should note that from 1 July 2015 the content on site will no longer be updated and the infomation presented represents an online archive rather than an actively maintained resource. Visitors who want to receive the latest health information should register to receive the fortnightly email Digest. This will link you directly to articles of interest in the key areas covered by this site. You can register for the Digest here.

Please contact the HIIRC team via email at , if you have technical difficulties accessing any of the resources on the HIIRC site.
