How to use HIIRC
Using HIIRC to find information and to share your knowledge is very simple and straightforward
You do not need to register for HIIRC to view the content on this site. You do need to register if you wish to participate in any discussion, add your profile, subscribe to daily updates or share you knowledge with your colleagues across New Zealand.
To register, you only have to provide your name and email address. No personal information will be shared without your permission.
To do so, look for the 'Register Account' box on the home page. Fill in your name and email and you will be directed to the registration page where you choose a user name and password. Click register and then look for a confirmation email, which will be sent to the email address you provided. Click on the link in the confirmation email and you are registered!
You will have the opportunity to complete a 'Profile', which provides more information about you and your interests. This is optional but does provide you and the sector access to a valuable directory of those working to improve New Zealand health care.
With or without registering, you have access to all of the content on the HIIRC website.
Look for the 'Key Area' you are interested and click on it. That will take you to a home page for each key area that provides a high level view of the content available. Look for the sub-topics to narrow your focus or click on the 'tabs' to view a specific type of content (like 'News' or 'Resources') in more detail.
There is also a 'Search' box on each page to help you find content and you may also use the 'Advanced Search' function.
All content on the HIIRC site is categorised through the use of 'tags'. You can sort content by clicking on the 'Show Tags' and selecting or deselecting which tags to include.
The Health Improvement and Innovation Resource Centre website is the ideal place to share your knowledge and skills with your colleagues across New Zealand. We are looking for your latest innovations, projects, news, events, tools and resources that the rest of the health sector can use to make the New Zealand health system better and more productive.
It is easy to add your content to the website by following these easy steps.
- You must be a registered user. If you are not, on the top right corner of each page, there is a link to the Registration page.
- Go to the topic area you wish to add content to (for example Diabetes or Ward).
- Click on the tab relating to the type of content you wish to add (for example, News, Resource or Initiative) .
- Click the ‘Add New’ button located to the right of the page or in the box presented. This brings you to the 'Add New' page.
- Type in a title.
- Type in or paste in the text you wish to share.
- Add any attachments or photos by browsing your computer.
- Click ‘Save’ and you are done!
Start sharing what you have learned with you colleagues across New Zealand.
