Description

The Ministry of Health has funded Waitemata District Health Board to run a Bowel Screening Pilot over four years from 2012–15. An evaluation will determine whether organised bowel screening could be introduced in New Zealand in a way that is effective, safe and acceptable for participants, equitable and economically efficient.

Bowel screening is being offered to everyone aged 50 to 74 living in the Waitemata DHB area who is eligible for publicly funded healthcare.
