Removing a roadblock to ED patient flow - improving access to telemetry monitoring (Waitemata DHB Health Excellence Awards 2012 poster award winner)
posted by WM Admin on 27 February 2013
In this poster, the authors describe how one reason for delays in moving patients from the emergency department into wards was the lack of available telemetry units (meaning patients had to remain in the emergency department on monitors).
On average, telemetry was not available for 24% of requests. The aim of their project was to ensure telemetry units were available for at least 95% of requests.
