ABC Smoking Cessation Course - now available on LearnOnline website
posted by Danielle Crooks on 25 July 2013
As of 1 July, the ABC smoking cessation course is now available online at LearnOnline. LearnOnline holds all of the Ministry's e-learning resources.
To access the course, a log-in and registration is required. A link on how to register is available here.
The course is for registered health professionals. You may log on as a guest to complete the course, however, if you wish to receive a certificate and become a quit card provider you will need to log on, register and complete the course.
We are currently working with Kineo on how to access a monthly report advising which will show us who within a DHB has completed the online course. This will be available to Smokefree Coordinators and members of the Tobacco Control team. We will let you know when this is available.
The course content is currently being reviewed and redesigned. We will keep you updated in an upcoming Spotlight on Tobacco newsletter when this has been completed. We expect the launch of this will be around the same time the revised Smoking Cessation Guidelines are made available, around the end of the year.
