Supporting people to move at home: Guide for managers
posted by WM Admin on 25 May 2015
This guide is provided for managers and people responsible for developing policies and organising training, and for anyone who organises activities associated with moving people in their homes.
The function of the guide is to provide information on risk assessment, planning, preparation and equipment related to moving, handling, or transferring actions in home environments. The underlying aim is to reduce the risks of injury to carers and to those being assisted.
The Home and Community Health Association and Carers New Zealand, supported by ACC, developed this guide in 2014-15, along with a brochure for carers Supporting people to move at home: Practical tips and techniques for carers and support workers.
