This New Zealand mixed methods study investigated the elements that make up an effective client-focused dementia day programme and the methods employed by organisations to measure the outcomes of these programmes. The authors identify five core elements of effective programmes, and note that surveys, reporting and auditing processes are routinely used to measure the quality of outcomes of day programmes.
